Thomas Tools has been serving the oil industry since 1961. Our company originated as a single location, down-hole tool specialty company and has since grown to become a leader in the rental tool industry with operational locations in New Iberia, La., Victoria, Tx., Corpus Christi, Tx. and Rock Springs, Wy. and additional sales locations in Houston, Dallas, Tyler, Tx., Denver, Oklahoma City and Midland/Odessa, Tx.

We have expanded our customer base to over 500 active customers and our highly qualified operations and management personnel bring an average of thirty years experience to the table.  However, throughout this expansion, Thomas Tools has always operated, and will continue to operate, with the philosophy of a family business, putting customers first and foremost. The cornerstone of our business is to provide our customers with the highest quality equipment and services for the best possible price. Our commitment to quality is the heart of our business philosophy.

In 1986, Thomas Tools was the first to initiate the development of high-torque drill pipe in the United States. Through our efforts, we were able to increase the torsional strength of high-torque connections with what is now called the “Thomas Tools Feature”. This feature incorporates a special box counterbore dimension that is proprietary to Thomas Tools. In addition to this advancement, we were also instrumental in the development and manufacturing of the first high-torque double shouldered refacing tool. The original concept and initial design of this tool were given to Baker Hughes Tubular Services.

As we see our competitors increase their inventory to include high-torque drill pipe, we realize the learning curve that we have experienced in maintenance and inspection has been critical to the performance of the high-torque connection. Our high standards resulting from this learning curve are very difficult to surpass. Our ordering specifications and inspection procedures are among the major components in Thomas Tools’ success. The commitment to our customers, and to ourselves, is to eliminate equipment or service problems by having the most stringent inspection and maintenance procedures in the oilfield.

Thomas Tools is a subsidiary of W-H Energy Services, Inc., who shares and endorses the commitment to our future growth and expansion. Our company has experienced rapid growth in recent years. We opened a new Thomas Tools location in Victoria, Texas in 1995 and in 2000 we built a first class rental tool facility in Corpus Christi, Texas. In 2007, we opened a location in Rock Springs, Wy.
